six NKF-MD Kidney Walks was held at Killens Pond State Park

Columbia. The Western Maryland Walk/Run is on Sunday,

Frederick KEY screening draws 77
Some 77
people had their kidney health evaluated at an NKF-MD KEY
screening at a Frederick Walmart on March 21. Of those, 31
individuals were found to have elevated readings of either
blood pressure, glucose or creatinine. They were advised to
follow up with a physician for further testing and treatment.
Under the supervision
of Frederick Community College nurse educator Maura
David, FCC nursing students volunteered their time at
the screening. Pictured standing, from left, are Bade Olusoga,
Katie Brodie, instructor Maura David and Felicia Fauntleroy.

Kevin's Concert, Vol.
2, raises $4,900
After a
modest debut last year, Kevin's Concert, Vol. 2, greatly
surpassed expectations by bringing in $4,900 for the National
Kidney Foundation of Maryland.
Organized by
musician Patrick Kisicki to honor his brother Kevin's gift to him
of a kidney, the March 29 concert featured several local
bands -- including one put together by guitarist Kisicki --
at Baltimore's Sonar club.
NKF-MD is
extremely grateful to the Kisicki family and their many friends
who came out to support this fun and very worthy effort, which is
now an annual event.
