The final two Kidney Walks for 2009 will be held Sunday, May 31 at UMBC, and Sunday, June 7 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. This year NKF-MD doubled the number of Kidney Walks offered, with a total of six.

Delmarva Golf tourney set for June 6

 

kidney classic logoThe 2009 Delmarva Golf Classic Invitational tournament will take place on Saturday, June 6 at Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club in Berlin, Md. 

 

The first and second place winners are invited to play at the National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic at Pebble Beach, California on January 14-18, 2010. NKF-MD pays the airfare for the first-place winners. 

 
Every team must consist of four amateur golfers whose USGA Handicap Indexes total 42.0 or more. Only one golfer on each team may have a USGA Handicap Index of 8.0 or less.
 
NKF-MD is also offering the opportunity to enjoy a day of non-competitive golf at the beautifully maintained and updated Robert Trent Jones Course at Ocean Pines Golf & Country Club for only $500 a foursome.
 
Delmarva Power is our Awards Lunch Sponsor. The other teams are sponsored by Carey Distributors, Inc., Marcor, and PKS Investment Advisors, LLC.
 
Registration and breakfast start at 7:30 a.m. There is a 9 a.m. shotgun start, and the awards banquet is at 2:30.  Golfers are then free to enjoy the evening with their family.

Summer KEY screening schedule  

The National Kidney Foundation of Maryland continues its mission of early detection and early intervention through free KEY (Kidneys: Evaluate Yours) health screenings.

KEY screenings, held throughout our service area, identify early markers for high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disease. Pre-registration is not necessary and anyone can participate.

Kidney Ride planned in Cumberland for Sept. 27

 

Canal Place

Join NKF-MD on Sunday, September 27 for the 1st Annual Western Maryland Kidney Ride as a rider or volunteer during Canal Fest in Cumberland.

 

The Ride includes a 44-mile course along the Great Allegheny Passage for the cycling enthusiast, and a 2-mile course for family and special populations. See the historic Mountain Thunder Steam engine train go by. The route will be patrolled by the Western Maryland Wheelmen, and there will be plenty of water/refreshment stops along the way.
