We are celebrating our 22nd Annual Gift of Life Gala and we are commemorating the great state we live in by entitling this year's event Celebrate Maryland: From the Mountains to the Shore and Everywhere in Between. The Gala is scheduled for Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore. In addition to our incredible silent and live auction, guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, dinner and dancing to the sounds of New Monopoly. The evening will be hosted by our Master of Ceremonies, Fred Manfra and our Corporate Chair is Michael Hodes of Hodes, Pessin & Katz, P.A.

This year we are honoring Senator Ben Cardin, with the Public Service Award for his dedication to Maryland residents and to our community. Robert A. Montgomery, M.D., D.Phil., Associate Professor of Surgery, Director of the Incompatible Kidney Transplant Program, Chief of the Division of Transplantation, and Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center, at the Johns Hopkins University and Hospital will be recognized with the Champion of Hope Award for his innovative approaches to expanding live donor renal transplantation. Stephen C. Jacobs, M.D., Professor of Surgery, University of Maryland School of Medicine, will receive the Champion of Hope Award for his accomplishments as a urologist who performed the first laparoscopic donor nephrectomy at the University of Maryland and fervently advocates for the protection of the living kidney donor while also providing the needed organs for transplantation.
