NKF-MD-DE’s #GivingTuesday Campaign Nov. 29 To Support Low Income Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease

nkf-givingtuesdayLUTHERVILLE, Md. – The National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware (National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Occurring Nov. 29, #GivingTuesday takes place annually each Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the United States) and joins the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

Proceeds from National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware’s #GivingTuesday campaign will directly support patient services for assist qualifying, low-income patients with chronic kidney disease. Proceeds will cover basic life expenses such as gas/electric, medication/medical equipment, dental expenses, transportation to and from dialysis, groceries, etc.

Last year, the Foundation distributed $122,926.32 to 1,117 patients. It hopes to surpass that $125,000 this year.
