“I received my transplant on October 22, 2012 from a deceased donor. Prior to receiving my transplant, I was on dialysis for seven years. Today, I am doing well, but going from dialysis to transplant has been a big transition for me. It’s been challenging and has had its ups and downs over the years. I like that having a transplant enables me to have more chances to be active at church, to volunteer and do more of the things that I enjoy. I named my kidney Victory! I am grateful for the gift of life that the deceased donor gave to me.”
Sadie and her “VICTORY” Team have been constants at the Greater Baltimore Kidney Walk! Sadie’s mindset is “VICTORY” over “DEFEAT.” Sadie’s fight with kidney disease had taken it’s toll on her body and life for years. Sadie told us, “I am determined to be Victorious” and “I live and walk victoriously in every area of my life.”
“I challenge people to think about becoming a LIVING DONOR – you can save a life and know that you are making a difference.”
