Dr. Petri is a professor and attending physician in the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Petri is co-director of The Hopkins Lupus Center and the Hopkins Lupus Pregnancy Center. Her expertise centers around lupus. Dr. Petri was the founding director of The Hopkins Lupus Center, which has a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and is internationally recognized as establishing the standard of care for the SLE population.

Dr. Petri is the director of the Hopkins Lupus Cohort, a longitudinal study of morbidity and mortality in SLE. She had published more than 500 articles in the peer-reviewed literature and as well other publications. She frequently speaks at medical meetings and has received many awards, including most recently the 2018 Evelyn V. Hess Award from the Lupus Foundation of America, Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers (2018), and American College of Rheumatology Master, November 2019.  Dr. Petri will be speaking on the prevalence, the clinical aspects, and the difficulty in treating patients with Lupus Nephritis.
